Bitbucket is Atlassian's Git code collaboration service, aimed at software engineering teams, DevOps groups, and developer-focused companies that already live in the Atlassian ecosystem. It brings repository hosting, pull request review, branch permissions, and built-in CI/CD with Bitbucket Pipelines into a workspace that syncs tightly with Jira work items. The clearest fit is a team that wants commits, pull requests, builds, and deployments to appear on the same Jira ticket instead of jumping between separate tools. For leaders, that means planning, code review, test runs, and release state are readable from one audit trail rather than pieced together from screenshots.

A delivery team can open a Jira issue, branch from it directly in Bitbucket, run a pipeline on every push, open a pull request with inline review, and see the build plus deploy status update the work item automatically. Bitbucket Pipelines supports dev, staging, and production environments with centralized visibility across repositories, private runners for restricted infrastructure, and required reviewers for compliance-sensitive code. It competes most directly with GitHub and GitLab for Git-based version control, but its distinct advantage is depth of Jira integration and Atlassian identity, access, and governance controls for organizations standardized on that stack.

Atlassian does not run a Bitbucket-only affiliate rate card on its own website.
