Prisma is a Berlin-based database tooling company that serves TypeScript and Node.js developers through two connected products: Prisma ORM for type-safe database access across Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, and other engines, and Prisma Postgres for a serverless Postgres database that provisions in seconds. The clearest audience is engineers who want a declarative schema, generated client, and predictable migrations instead of writing SQL glue code by hand, plus teams that want their database and data layer from one vendor.

A typical workflow starts with a Prisma schema file that describes models, relations, and indexes. Developers run prisma migrate to evolve the database, then call a generated client from their application with full IDE autocompletion and compile-time type checks against the schema. Prisma Postgres adds hosted storage with zero-cold-start behavior and a free tier, which lets hobby projects, internal tools, and new SaaS features ship without a separate database account. Prisma 7 is the current recommended line, Prisma Next is the announced TypeScript rewrite, and the changelog records frequent releases, so teams tracking active roadmaps have recent material to evaluate. Prisma fits best for TypeScript-first teams and less well for shops that prefer raw SQL query builders.

Prisma runs an in-house affiliate program advertised on its Partners Affiliates page. Interested publishers submit an application, and approved affiliates get a unique referral link plus a dashboard to track signups, conversions, and earnings. The program page states there are no quotas, and lists extras such as early access to features, a creator community, and Prisma swag for non-paying platform signups.

The headline economics on the Prisma page are 20% commission for 24 months on monthly revenue from referred customers, covering both base plan fees and usage-based charges. The page does not publish a cookie window, minimum payout threshold, payment cadence, or payout rails such as PayPal or bank transfer, and it directs specific questions to partnerships@prisma.io. Because those mechanics are held inside the publisher dashboard, affiliates should confirm attribution window and payout setup during onboarding rather than assume standard SaaS defaults.
