Tuta (Tutanota)

Tuta, formerly known as Tutanota, is a German email and calendar service built by the Hanover-based team behind the open-source Tutanota clients. Accounts ship with end-to-end encrypted mailbox storage, an encrypted calendar, encrypted address book, custom-domain email on paid plans, aliases, and a web, desktop (Electron), iOS, and Android client set that the team publishes as open source on GitHub. In 2024 Tuta launched a hybrid post-quantum-resistant protocol (CRYSTALS-Kyber plus X25519), making it the first mainstream email service advertising quantum-resistant encryption of new messages; that milestone is often the hook affiliate reviews lead with. Servers are hosted in Germany under EU GDPR and German data-protection law, which is a selling point for users uncomfortable with US-jurisdiction email.

The separate in-product refer-a-friend feature (EUR 10 credit to each side when a friend upgrades to a paid plan) is a customer-to-customer referral, not the publisher affiliate program.

The affiliate program pays 25% recurring commission on paid Tuta Mail subscriptions for as long as the referred customer keeps paying, per commissiondex and the Tuta team's public posts. Cookies run 30 days from click to signup, and commissions lock once the referred customer's trial or first billing cycle resolves and payment clears. Payouts are monthly via bank transfer or PayPal; Tuta does not publicly list a hard minimum threshold, and exact terms are confirmed in the partner agreement.
